The French electronic duo Daft Punk has ceased to exist after 28 years of career. This was reported by the publication Pitchfork with reference to the representative of the musicians Catherine Fraser.

The musicians themselves hinted at the end of their career by releasing an 8-minute video titled "Epilogue" with an excerpt from their 2006 film Electroma. The representative of the group Catherine Fraser confirmed the breakup of the band, but did not explain the reason for the departure of the musicians from the stage.

Daft Punk the band was formed in 1993 by Tamara Bangalter and guy-Manuel de homem-Christo. Interestingly, they never hid their own names, but from the very beginning they wore masks that hid their appearance, and press photos were digitally distorted. Later, with increasing popularity, the musicians began to perform in the form of robots, using intricate helmets with lights and gloves with metal fingers. It was in this form that their photo shoots, interviews, live performances and filming in music videos took place.

Over the 28 years of its existence, Daft Punk has won seven Grammy Awards. In total, they have released four studio albums, as well as the soundtrack to the film "Tron: Legacy". The band's latest album, Random Access Memories, was released in 2013 and topped the charts in 21 countries. The recording of this album was attended by famous disco producers Giorgio Moroder and Niall Rogers, rapper and producer Pharrell Williams and famous session musicians Nathan East, Paul Jackson Jr., Omar Hakim and John Robinson.
